Robert Blochinger, President of the National Institute of Certified Floorcovering Inspectors (NICFI) has been invited to attend the annual National Job Corps Association (NJCA) Policy Forum, March 27-28 in Washington DC.
Directors, operators, stakeholders, administration and agency officials, industry partners and Congressional representatives of the Job Corps national program and labor department will discuss pressing issues and opportunities facing the program during the two-day forum.
Blochinger, who also serves as Floor Covering Leadership Council (FCLC) chairman, will discuss the recently completed survey results about the installation crisis and shortage of trained individuals in the flooring installation trade. The survey results will be presented in a condensed talking points format followed by discussion and questions.
The flooring installation trade has been open to both men and women, residential and commercial, have a reasonable and fair wage earning capability, as any other construction trade. There is room for advancement after becoming a journeyman/woman and positioning into other areas as supervision, management, technical services, consulting and other areas within the flooring industry.
The National Institute of Certified Floor-covering Inspectors (NICFI) is a not-for-profit national association of certified, independent floor covering professionals.
