CPWR to Host OSHA Webinar on Silica Dust Later This Month

CPWR: The Center for Construction Research and Training will host “Ask OSHA: Compliance with 29 CFR 1926.1153 – Respirable Crystalline Silica in Construction,” 2 to 3:30 p.m. EST on Oct. 20.

According to CPWR, “attendees will hear directly from OSHA representatives of the Directorate of Technical Support and Emergency Management (DTSEM), the Directorate of Enforcement Programs (DEP) and the Directorate of Standards and Guidance (DSG). The panel will discuss topics such as the most common violations of the rule, medical examination requirements and exposure control methods.”

Panelists will include Jennifer M. Kim, director of the Office of Health Enforcement for DEP; Stephen Schayer, director of the Office of Physical Hazards for DSG; and Minda Nieblas, MD, director of the office of Occupational Medicine and Nursing for DTSEM. The moderator will be Chris Trahan Cain, CPWR exec dir.
