Tyler Elliott and Roberto Mendez have been named the winners of the second TISE (the International Surface Event) Installer of the Year regional contest, held recently at UCX in Philadelphia. The event drew nine competitors demonstrating their skills in either lvp or carpet. Elliott won in lvp; Mendez was honored in carpet.
They will now go on to compete at the Nationals during TISE 2027—set for Feb. 2-4 in Las Vegas—where they will face off against Jackson Aho (lvp) and Hugo Gutierrez (carpet) along with the winners of upcoming regionals in Houston on Oct. 17 and Dalton, Ga., on Nov. 7. Two grand prize winners will then receive the National Installer of the Year title, a cash prize and championship belts.
Elliott won the lvp category against fierce competition from Noe Cruz, Edward Mark Kinzer III and Jason Souza. Mendez won in carpet versus Douglas Lamos Jr., Dylan Miller, Rick Shaver and Geovany Leon.
