The Floor Covering Education Foundation (FCEF) will host its first annual day-long fundraising campaign on Wednesday, May 3, during National Skilled Trades Day to bring awareness to flooring installation as a skilled trade. As part of the lead-up to next week’s fundraiser, FCEF staff is urging members of the industry to post the graphic at the top of this story to their social media feeds.
A lineup of industry executives and special guests will join the FCEF team for a livestream throughout the day; this schedule of speakers is still being developed. FCEF will also feature a dedicated online donation portal to monitor contributions throughout the day.
“We’re asking everyone to mark their calendars for Wednesday, May 3, as the day to make a commitment in support of the FCEF,” stated Kaye Whitener, director of operations of FCEF. “We’d love to see all manufacturers, distributors, buying groups and independents use this day to promote support of the FCEF within their organizations. Perhaps challenges [can be] made across competitive lines on who can raise the most support for this very important initiative.”
