The National Tile Contractors Association (NTCA) will hold nine regional training programs and 16 free evening workshops this month.
Training programs are designed to give installers practical experience with the latest tools, materials and techniques in accordance with ANSI standards and TCNA Handbook for Ceramic, Glass and Stone Tile Installation methods. Workshops feature classroom instruction, live demonstrations, small-group interaction, catered networking time and a chance to receive prizes and giveaways in a three-hour, hands-on format.
Regional training programs will focus on Interior Installation of Gauged Porcelain Tile Panels/Slabs (GPTP/S), and Substrate Preparation and Tile Industry Standards for Installation of Large-Format Tile (LFT).
Training on gauged porcelain tile panels and slabs is set for these Floor & Décor locations: 9/3 in East Brunswick, N.J.; 9/10 in Hyannis, Mass.; 9/17 in Moorestown, N.J.; and 9/29 in Danbury, Conn. Additional training will be held 9/3 at BPI in Houston and 9/24 at BPI in Memphis, as well as 9/24 at Crossville Studios in Houston.
Training on large-format tile will be held 9/17 at Floor & Décor in Lafayette, La.; and 9/24 at Floor & Décor in Greenville, S.C.
Workshops will cover either “Failures—Could it Be Me?”; “Foundations of Wet Areas”; “In and Outs of Layout”; “Tile Matters: Best Practices for the Pros” and “Tile Technology” looking at Adhesives or Membranes.
A “Failures” workshop will be held 9/17 at Arizona Tile in San Diego, Calif. “Foundations of Wet Areas” workshops will be held 9/8 at Avalon Flooring in Cherry Hill, N.J.; 9/8 at Daltile in Brooklyn and 9/9 at Daltile in Mt. Vernon, N.Y.; 9/15 at James Hardie in Dallas; 9/16 at Daltile in Torrance, Calif.; 9/22 at Emser Tile in Dallas; 9/29 at Louisville Tile in West Chester, Ohio; and 9/30 at Louisville Tile in Louisville, Ky.
“Ins and Outs of Layout” will be held 9/15 at Floor & Décor in Fresno, Calif. “Tile Matters” will be held 9/24 at MSI in Milwaukee. “Tile Technology: Adhesives” will be held 9/1 at Floor & Décor in Mt. Vernon, N.Y.; 9/10 at Daltile in Stoughton, Mass.; 9/22 at Daltile in South Bend., Ind.; and 9/28 at Floor & Décor in Schererville, Ind. “Tile Technology: Membranes” will be held 9/15 at Floor & Décor in Paramus, N.J.
