NTCA to Hold 14 Workshops and Six Regional Trainings in June

The National Tile Contractors Association (NTCA) has announced training events across 10 states, set to deliver 14 free workshops and six free regional trainings this June. These events provide the latest updates on industry standards, best practices and emerging trends, and are presented by NTCA technical trainers.

The workshops, spanning three hours in the afternoon or evening, are open to tile installers, contractors, sales personnel, and members of the architecture and design community. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in an interactive learning environment to connect with peers and industry experts during the workshops. Meals will be provided and there will be chances to win valuable prizes.

Workshops will focus on one of the following topics: Ins and Outs of Layout for Contractors; Tile Matters โ€“ Best Practices for the Pros; Failures โ€“ Could It Be Me? and Tile Technology โ€“ Membranes.

Dates and locations are set to include: 6/3: Floor & Decor in Boynton Beach, Fla.; 6/4: Floor & Decor locations in Everett, Wash., and Miami, Fla.; 6/6: Daltile in Spokane, Wash.; 6/7: Daltile in Missoula, Mont., 6/11: Daltile in Midland, Texas; 6/12: Daltile in Lubbock, Texas; 6/13: Daltile in Amarillo, Texas; 6/17: Daltile in Albuquerque, N.M.; 6/19: Floor & Decor in Tempe, Ariz.; 6/20: Floor & Decor in Las Vegas, Nev.; 6/25: Hamilton Parker in Columbus, Ohio; 6/26: The Tile Shop in Sterling Heights, Mich.; and 6/27: Genesee Tile in Kentwood, Mich.

Regional Training sessions offer tile installers an immersive, all-day experience to hone their skills using both traditional and cutting-edge tools, materials and techniques. These hands-on sessions are designed to empower participants with practical knowledge rooted in ANSI standards and methods outlined in the Tile Council of North America (TCNA) Handbook for Ceramic, Glass and Stone Tile Installation. The NTCA Reference Manual serves as a guiding resource throughout the training.

To maximize the learning experience, each session is limited to 20 participants. Attendees will receive a document of course completion upon successfully concluding the training session.

Topics for the June regional trainings include:

The GPTP/Slabs Training equips you to install gauged porcelain tile panels with confidence and accuracy. Learn new tile industry standards and methods for installing GPTP, how GPTP is made, where it can be used and special tools, setting materials and techniques required to install it.

The Substrate Preparation and Large-Format Tile Training will show you how to use the ANSI A 108 standards and TCNA Handbook to address real world challenges in hands-on installations focusing on substrate examination and preparation for setting large-format tile.

Dates and locations are set to include: 6/5: Floor & Decor in Austin, Texas; 6/12: Floor & Decor in Riviera Beach, Fla.; 6/14: BPI in San Antonio, Texas; 6/19: Floor & Decor in Cumming, Ga.; 6/26: Garden State Tile in Columbia, S.C.; and Floor & Decor in Tomball, Texas, on the same date.
