Organizers of The International Surface Event (tise) Installer of the Year Competition have named Benny Powell and Doug Lamos Jr., winners of the Boston regional qualifier, held July 19 at WJ Grosvenor.
Powell, from Powell Flooring in Plymouth, Mass., won in engineered wood. Lamos Jr., from Your Local Floor Pro in Hartland, Vt., won in carpet. According to organizers, “competitors faced off in intense head-to-head matchups, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail, problem-solving abilities and technical expertise. From perfect seam work in carpet to precision cuts and flawless transitions in engineered wood, the level of workmanship was truly impressive.”
Certified Flooring Installers (CFI) is the Installer of the Year Competition event partner. Mohawk Industries is the platinum sponsor. Product sponsors are QEP/Roberts, Performance Accessories and Sika USA. Media partners are ProInstaller and Floor Trends & Installation.
