The Tile Council of North America (TCNA) will hold its next TCNA Handbook committee meeting on June 4 at the Hyatt Regency in Dallas. This year’s meeting will be held in conjunction with ASTM Committee Week, offering participants expanded opportunities for collaboration and engagement.
The meeting will bring together key industry stakeholders to review and consider potential updates to the TCNA Handbook for Ceramic, Glass, and Stone Tile Installation, now in its 64th consecutive year of publication. Widely regarded as an essential industry resource, the Handbook provides guidelines used throughout the U.S. in specifying, selling and installing tile and stone.
The upcoming meeting will include discussion and review of several proposed updates including step-down shower assemblies, tile in elevator cabs, retroactive movement joint installation and any additional topics submitted by attendees.
During the week of June 1, ASTM committees will meet to discuss ceramic tile, cement, masonry, slip resistance and other related areas, giving participants the opportunity to engage in a broader range of technical discussions and standards development activities.
“Diverse, strong participation is essential for key decisions shaping the future of standards and guidelines,” said Ryan Marino, TCNA’s director of standards research and development. “This coordination of the Handbook committee meeting with the June ASTM Committee Week will drive greater participation and create an opportunity for more industry leaders to contribute to the Handbook and important standards development work.”
