TEC introduces TotalFlex XMS Tile Adhesive, a new category of adhesive for the most demanding jobs including exterior gauged porcelain panels, submerged applications and a range of temperature conditions that is “unmatched” according to the company.
After years of testing numerous formulations, TotalFlex XMS Tile Adhesive is now available as the only ready-to-use, modified silane adhesive ideal for these types of extreme applications, according to Mike Bobak, director of sales. The accelerated curing formulation also provides robust non-sag/non-slump adhesion, combined with long open time and extra-smooth troweling.
“We developed TotalFlex XMS Tile Adhesive as a solution to make challenging tile installation projects easier and faster,” said John Anderson, senior product manager, H.B. Fuller Construction Adhesives (parent company of the TEC brand). ”We put the product under rigorous testing—from freeze and thaw cycles, to long-term chlorine water submersions to simulate a pool. The ultimate test was adhering gauged porcelain tile panels to the exterior of a complex commercial project, and everyone involved was excited about the product performance.”
TotalFlex XMS adhesive is premixed and requires only a single side application. The tile adhesive can be used for multiple applications, such as interior and exterior walls and countertops, water features and showers, porcelain, glass, metal, stone and resin-backed tiles, including large format. TotalFlex XMS Tile Adhesive is available nationwide in 4-gallon (15.1 L) plastic pails through select TEC distributors.
