Women in the Floorcovering Industry (WIFI), an educational nonprofit aimed at educating and empowering women in the flooring industry, has announced its schedule of networking and educational events for summer 2023.
WIFI will host a meet-up at NeoCon in Chicago, 8:30 to 9 a.m. June 13 in the Mannington Commercial showroom at The MART, 222 West Merchandise Mart Plaza, Suite 1039. All NeoCon attendees are invited to attend, including WIFI members and those interested in the group.
WIFI has also announced June and July “WIFI Power Hours,” which are monthly webinars open to anyone. Topics are designed to help women who work in the floor covering industry grow personally and professionally.
The first webinar, “Balance in the Age of Hybrid & Remote Work,” is set for June 27 from noon to 1 p.m. EST. It will be hosted by WIFI Board member Betsy Amoroso, Mannington’s senior director of corporate communications. Panelists will include: Dwan Thomas, IT project manager, Shaw Industries; Terry Marchetta, VP of residential styling, Mannington; and Dori Blitzstein, owner, Roesel Heck.
Another webinar, “Speed of Trust,” is scheduled for July 19 from noon to 1 p.m. EST. Topics will include trust and influence; how to build trust and keep it; the cost of mistrust; and the difference in mindset, skillset and toolset. The session will be led by Kim Denton, Shaw Learning Academy manager.
