Organizers Share Top Tile Trends Ahead of Coverings

Organizers of Coverings, North America’s largest international tile and stone tradeshow, have unveiled the top tile trends for 2024 in celebration of National Tile Day set for tomorrow, Feb 23. These trends offer a sneak peek of some of the exhibits planned for this year’s show, April 22-25 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.

The trends were identified by Coverings’ three leading sponsors and international tile associations: Ceramics of Italy/Confindustria Ceramica, Ceramic Tile Manufacturers Association of Spain (ASCER)/Tile of Spain and Tile Council of North America (TCNA).

Alena Capra, owner of Alena Capra Designs, a certified master kitchen and bath designer and Coverings spokesperson, collaborated with the associations to forecast the 2024 trends. Capra noted, “The trends deliver a totally fresh perspective on ceramic tile’s versatility and beauty, providing architects, designers and other tile professionals with a groundbreaking reimagination of tile’s unified functional and aesthetic possibilities.”

Capra and a panel of tile industry experts will discuss this year’s tile trends during the “Global Tile Trends” presentation at Coverings, 11 a.m. to noon, April 22. The live session will provide attendees with a detailed exploration of the trends and stunning photography featuring an expansive range of indoor and outdoor tile applications.

Set in Stone: These ceramic looks draw inspiration from ancient limestone, bluestone and slate, including the characteristics of veining, coal lines and visible fossils.

Tactile Renaissance: Tile manufacturers are embracing rich textures in new ceramic collections impressed with deep grooves, subtle fluting, billowing curves and scored strokes.

The Third Dimension: A plethora of 3D tiles feature fluted and protruding surfaces with patterns that look and feel like natural stone. Marble prints are paired with low-relief veining for an incredibly realistic appearance.
