Sika has unveiled SikaBond-5700, a resilient flooring adhesive designed for the interior installation of luxury vinyl tile and plank, vinyl sheet goods (heterogeneous/homogeneous), fiberglass-backed sheet vinyl, carpet tile, rubber flooring and more, for residential and commercial applications.
With a shelf life of two years, this multi-use, pressure sensitive flooring adhesive has been formulated with aggressive bond strength to be a “contractor-grade, day-in, day-out LVT/LVP flooring adhesive solution,” the company said.
Available in 1- and 4-gal. plastic pails, SikaBond-5700 is easy-to-spread and can be trowel- or roller-applied with a coverage rate of up to 400 sq. ft. It features high shear and peel strength, high initial tack and low odor. Featuring up to eight hours of working time, SikaBond-5700 also offers moisture resistance of up to 10 lb. per ASTM F1869 and 90% RH per ASTM F2170. The adhesive is easy to clean wet or dry and allows for permanent (wet-set) or releasable (dry-set) installations. SikaBond-5700 boasts low VOCs and helps contribute to LEED credits, the company added.

Following the launches of SikaBond-5900 and SikaBond-5800 last year, SikaBond-5700 is the latest adhesive under the SikaBond umbrella of flooring installation products. It also complements Sika’s full line of moisture mitigation, sound control and subfloor surface preparation products comprising the Sika Secure System.
