QEP Acquires Spray Adhesives Maker Spray-Lock

QEP said it has acquired “substantially all of the assets” of Spray-Lock, effective Sept. 1.  Spray-Lock develops, manufactures and distributes premium aerosol spray adhesives for flooring and wall applications. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

According to QEP, the acquisition “advances QEP’s strategy of broadening its core adhesives platform by adding Spray-Lock’s patented spray-applied technology, proprietary formulations and technical expertise to QEP’s existing flooring installation solutions.” With the addition of Spray-Lock, QEP expands its offerings across lvt/lvp, sheet flooring, vct, carpet tile, rubber flooring, underlayment, wall coverings and FRP wall panel applications.

Len Gould, QEP’s president and CEO, noted, “Spray-Lock, a category product authority and pioneer in aerosol adhesives, is an excellent fit for QEP. The company brings differentiated capabilities, product categories and customer relationships that are highly complementary to QEP’s business. Its domestic manufacturing capabilities align with our strategy and provide a strong platform to scale the Spray-Lock product line while expanding the solutions we offer across our professional network.”

Fred Land, founder of Spray-Lock, commented, “Finding the right long-term steward for the Spray-Lock brand, technology and team was extremely important to me. QEP shares our commitment to innovation, quality and customer service. Its resources, market reach and distribution capabilities provide an excellent platform for Spray-Lock’s continued growth.”

The Spray-Lock business is now part of QEP’s North American operations. QEP said it will “work closely with the Spray-Lock team, customers and business partners to support an orderly transition and continuity of service.”
