Daltile was pleased to recently help the Gary Sinise Foundation provide a new home for wounded veteran Rico Roman and his family. The home is the 64th home built by the Gary Sinise Foundation’s R.I.S.E. program. Daltile donated tile and porcelain slab products for the home’s bathrooms, kitchen, fireplace, and laundry room.

Through the R.I.S.E. program, the Gary Sinise Foundation constructs one-of-a-kind specially adapted smart homes for our nation’s most severely wounded heroes. These 100% mortgage-free homes ease the daily challenges faced by these wounded heroes and their families.
“At the Gary Sinise Foundation, we believe that giving heroes like Rico Roman a new home is the least we can do to honor their service and the sacrifices they made,” said Elizabeth Fields, Chief Operating Office of the Gary Sinise Foundation. “One of the things that makes R.I.S.E. truly unique is that we tailor the homes to meet the specific needs of our wounded heroes, many of whom have severe injuries from combat. On the day the Roman family saw their new home for the first time, Gary Sinise communicated his personal sentiments directly to the family:

Also, the tile they selected for the fireplace, Daltile’s Articulo, is based on the traditional warm grey look of travertine stone with the added modernity of a linear twist inherent in the product’s design and the vertical installation of the tiles.”
