The Surfaces Showhome: Calibu Vineyard—a 7,300 sq. ft. estate nestled in the Santa Monica Mountains in Calabasas, Calif.—is being developed in collaboration between Jennifer Farrell Designs and The International Surface Event (TISE). Unveiling gradually throughout this year, the remodel project aims to showcase some of the finest in design, surface materials and trends. The event will culminate with in-person home tours in California this fall, as well as the ability to shop and source through a photorealistic virtual tour from project partner Visualizer+.
The Primary Bedroom Suite offered a unique challenge: the 1,200 sq. ft. room was considered too big for its original purpose. To make better use of the space, the suite is being reconfigured into a bedroom, library/study, home gym and spacious walk-in closet. Artful furniture will be featured throughout, with bespoke Karastan rugs adding unique texture and warmth to the open space.
Wide plank oak floors in White Cap Oak from the Coastal Couture collection by Mohawk run throughout the suite and second floor. Oversized Lamps Plus basket light fixtures anchor the floating bed to the center of the room. The existing fireplace in the adjacent study is also getting a facelift with Emser Tile textured porcelain slabs, and the suite is topped off with a wine and coffee bar, including a Monogram refrigerator.
