The Resilient Floor Covering Institute (RFCI) recently held in-person meetings in Atlanta for two of its key committees. The Technical Advisory Committee covered topics including ASTM updates, ecomedes database updates, industry-wide environmental product declarations (EPDs) and the new AFFIRM certification. The Marketing Committee reviewed current marketing initiatives and discussed future plans.
Guest speaker at both meetings was Stanley Mathuram, executive vice president of SCS Global Services. He manages 110 certificate programs including FloorScore and Assure Certified, which are both RFCI programs. Mathuram briefed both committees on the increasing consumer preference for sustainable products.
Both committees are composed of executives in their respective fields from member companies of RFCI. Noted Bill Blackstock, RFCI president and CEO, โWe were pleased that so many leaders in technical and marketing roles in RFCI member companies invested their time in these key meetings. The level of enthusiasm and engagement was fantastic, across the board.โ
