News Brief: Upcoming Webinar on Preventing Falls Through Improved Design

The Center for Construction Research and Training (CPWR) will host a webinar on “Preventing Falls Through Improved Design,” March 29 at 2 p.m. EST. The one-and-a-half hour webinar will include a general explanation of Prevention through Design (PtD) and how it can be used to improve building, work and equipment design; a brief review of the findings of a recent CPWR survey on PtD; and a panel discussion where industry representatives will share how they have used PtD methods to help prevent falls.

Moderating the discussion will be Chris Trahan Cain, CIH, executive director of CPWR. Panelists will include G. Scott Earnest, Ph.D., PE, CSP, associate director for construction, Office of Construction Safety and Health, NIOSH; Bill Wright, CPWR communications director; Bob Moser, PE, CSP, manager of health & safety by design, Jacobs; Ralph Bierschwale, RA, LEED AP, architecture design manager and architecture SME, Jacobs; TJ Lyons, OHST, CSP, safety director N.Y. construction, Gilbane; and Jose Herrera, safety and occupational health specialist, OSHA.
