Florim USA recently hosted a MILEstone Academy Essential Gauged Porcelain Installation Training event, Sept. 12-14 at the company’s 5,000 sq. ft. training area in Clarksville, Tenn.
The three-day course welcomed certified installers and licensed contractors interested in expanding their expertise in gauged porcelain. Attendees were taught how to prepare, cut and install 48”x110” gauged porcelain tiles using mocked-up shower stall settings.
MILEstone created the Academy to support its distribution network while also educating tile installers about gauged porcelain tile. Distributor customers were invited to reach out to certified installers and licensed contractors to attend the course without a fee.
After learning the skills to handle and install gauged porcelain tiles, installers took a written exam to receive certification. The exam featured questions on ANSI standards as well as the techniques they were taught.
Four more events are set to be held through November. Additionally a one-day abbreviated, informational course is in development.
