Scott Humphrey, CEO of the World Floor Covering Association (WFCA), recently shared the following message regarding the catastrophic flooding in Texas:
“It’s difficult to find words in the face of such heartbreaking loss. The floods that swept through Kerrville and the Texas Hill Country over the July 4th weekend have left families and entire communities grieving. What should have been a weekend of connection and celebration became a moment of unimaginable tragedy.
“For many, this place holds meaning—whether through family, friendships or cherished memories. And while we may not all live nearby, the flooring community has always been defined by its compassion and willingness to act.
“If you’re looking for ways to support those affected, the organizations below are providing critical aid—from search and rescue to meals, shelter, and animal care:
- Kerr County Flood Relief Fund: Led by the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country
- American Red Cross – Central & South Texas: Providing shelter and emergency assistance
- TEXSAR – Texas Search & Rescue: Supporting on-the-ground recovery operations
- Mercy Chefs: Delivering hot meals to survivors and first responders
- Kerrville Pets Alive: Rescuing and caring for displaced animals
“To everyone affected—and to those carrying the weight of this loss alongside them—please know the WFCA community stands with you.”
