NTCA Honors Three Members with Technical Committee Impact Award

The National Tile Contractors Association (NTCA) has introduced a new award, the NTCA Technical Committee Impact Award, to recognize individuals whose expertise, dedication and volunteer contributions have made a lasting difference in the work of the NTCA Technical Committee and the NTCA Reference Manual.

In its inaugural year, the NTCA Technical Committee recognized three members for their commitment and technical leadership:

  • Mike Gillett, Commercial Ceramics Inc.: Gillett was instrumental in adding profiles to the NTCA Reference Manual and continues to volunteer for subcommittees, contributing valuable documents and guidance for tile
  • Dan Lambert, Lambert Tile & Stone: Lambert has been an active volunteer on several subcommittees for many years. Most recently, he led a large group of committee members in reviewing, editing and reorganizing the entire NTCA Reference Manual into a clear, start-to-finish installation format.
  • Jim Whitfield, MAPEI: A long-standing voice on the committee, Whitfield consistently shared his insights and volunteered for multiple projects to ensure the Reference Manual reflected accurate information from the manufacturerโ€™s perspective.

โ€œThe NTCA Technical Committee recognized three committee members with the NTCA Technical Committee Impact Award for their hard work, consistent participation in new documents and support throughout the years of the committee and the NTCA Reference Manual,โ€ said James Woelfel, chair of the NTCA Technical Committee. โ€œThe NTCA Reference Manual is a comprehensive culmination of knowledge, research and development that addresses common installation obstacles and issues in the tile and stone industry. It serves as an essential tool for contractors, helping them navigate recurring challenges and identify expert solutions.โ€
