New Unilin Tech Can Make Accessories Directly from Flooring

Unilin Technologies, the IP division of Unilin, has launched what it calls โ€œa breakthrough manufacturing technologyโ€ that enables flooring accessoriesโ€”such as round-nose and square stair covers, transition profiles and clickable skirtingsโ€”to be produced directly from the original flooring panel.

By starting from the original floor plank, the new technology ensures โ€œevery accessory shares the exact same design, texture and color as the flooring itself. This results in a flawless, fully coordinated finish and seamless transitions. Installation is easy, with all accessories simply locking into place,โ€ the company stated.

The technology offers stair covers in both a modern square-edge and more traditional roundnose, along with clickable moldings and profiles. The production process is fully compatible with laminate, engineered wood and SPC core materials, the company added.

โ€œThis technology brings a long-awaited solution to a well-known challenge in our industry,โ€ said Floris Koopmans, sales & marketing director at Unilin Technologies. โ€œBy allowing manufacturers to create accessories directly from their flooring panels, we eliminate design deviations, reduce production steps and offer an easier installation experience. It allows brands to present collections that are truly uniform, from floor to wall and across every transition.โ€

The new technology will be available for licensing through Unilin Technologies, and will make its first appearance at the winter trade shows Domotex (Hall 20, Booth C40) and TISE (Booth 1729).
