The National Tile Contractors Association (NTCA) will host seven regional programs and 17 free evening workshops this month. The day-long, immersive regional training programs are designed to give installers practical experience with the latest tools, materials and techniques. The three-hour workshops provide classroom instruction, live demonstrations, small-group interaction, catered networking time and a chance to receive prizes and giveaways.
This month’s regional programs will focus on “Interior Installation of Gauged Porcelain Tile Panels/Slabs (GPTP/S)” and “Substrate Preparation and Tile Industry Standards for Installation of Large-Format Tile (LFT).”
GPTP/S will be offered at the following Floor & Décor locations: 8/6 in Happy Valley, Ore.; 8/11 in Everett, Wash.; 8/20 in Lombard, Ill., and Denver; and 8/27 in Gaithersburg, Md. Additionally, Uzin Utz will host the training in Waco, Texas on 8/27. Substrate Prep for LFT training was held 8/6 at Daltile in Lenexa, Kans.
NTCA workshop topics include: “Tile Matters: Best Practices for the Pros”; “Failures—Could it be Me?”; “Tile Technology” covering membranes or adhesives; “Ins and Outs of Layout” and “Foundations of Wet Areas.”
“Tile Matters” was held 8/10 at Floor & Décor in Bakersfield, Calif.
“Failures” will be held 8/19 at Floor & Décor in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; 8/20 at The Tile Shop in Denver; 8/26 at Daltile in Fort Meyers, Fla.; and 8/27 at Floor & Décor in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
“Tile Technology” for membranes was held 8/12 at The Masonry Center in Spokane, Wash. Workshops covering adhesives will be held 8/18 at Daltile in Ogden, Utah; and 8/25 at Daltile in Wilmington, Del.
“Ins and Outs of Layout” will be held 8/11 at Daltile in Lakewood, Wash.; 8/25 at The Masonry Center in Boise; and 8/27 at The Masonry Center in Missoula, Mont.
“Foundations of Wet Areas” will be held 8/4 at Emser Tile in Sacramento; 8/11 at Daltile in Ontario, Calif.; 8/13 at Emser Tile in Phoenix and Daltile in Missoula, Mont.; 8/18 at Daltile in Cranberry Township, Pa.; and 8/20 at Daltile in Bedford Heights, Ohio.
