The National Association of Floor Covering Technicians (NAFCT) has appointed Andy McWilliams of Novalis US as its education committee chairman. With this pivotal role, McWilliams will “play a crucial part in shaping the future of flooring education…and spearheading professional development within the industry,” according to the organization.
McWilliams stated, “I feel honored to be considered for the role of education committee chair, as flooring has been my passion since I was young. Education in the flooring industry has always been close to my heart. My main goal in this position is to make NAFCT training more widely available across the United States. By achieving this, I hope to raise the knowledge level of professionals in our field and improve the overall standards of the flooring industry.”

McWilliams has more than 25 years of experience in the installation field, specializing in residential and commercial carpet and resilient floor coverings. He holds numerous carpet, vinyl and surface prep certifications throughout the industry. In 2019 he became technical specialist, North America, for Novalis US, before being elevated to technical manager and national trainer, North America, for the company. In this role, he works closely with R&D on new products and provides product and installation training for installers across the country.
