Agenda Shared for CFI and FCICA Joint Convention

Organizers of the upcoming International Certified Flooring Installers (CFI) and Flooring Contractors Association (FCICA) Convention and Trade Show have unveiled the agenda for the joint event, set for Sept. 20-22 at Rosen Shingle Creek in Orlando, Fla.

โ€œOur goal, as we bring together CFI and FCICA for this inaugural event, is to create an enriching experience that celebrates our industryโ€™s collective knowledge and advancements,โ€ stated John McHale, CFI director of operations. โ€œWe look forward to welcoming the flooring installation community to this remarkable event, where connections will be made, skills will be elevated and our industryโ€™s future will be shaped together.โ€

The show kicks off Wednesday, Sept. 20, at 7 a.m. with the fourth annual golf tournament on the greens of Shingle Creek Golf Club. The day continues with networking events, followed by the First Timers Reception at 5:30 p.m. and a Welcome Reception at 8 p.m.

Thursday, Sept. 21, begins with the Opening Keynote at 8:30 a.m., followed by an array of education sessions and product demonstrations exploring the latest trends in the flooring market. The Trade Show, a focal point of the event, will bring together leading flooring manufacturers, mills and distributors sharing the latest trends and technologies in flooring installation.

Attendees can engage with returning exhibitors including Advanced Adhesives Technologies, Base King LLC, Beno J Gundlach Co., Better Tools, Broadleaf Industries, Federated Insurance, Floor Covering Education Foundation (FCEF), Go Carrera, Hankโ€™s Specialties, H.B. Fuller Construction Products/TEC, International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT), MAPEI, Maxxon, Milliken & Co., Roberts/QEP, HPS Schonox North America, Spray-Lock, Tarkett, Taylor Tools, Tek Stil Concepts, The International Surfaces Event (TISE), Traxx, Uzin Utz/Wolff, Versatrim LLC, Wagner Meters, and World Floor Covering Association (WFCA).

This yearโ€™s Trade Show will also feature a roster of new exhibitors including HTMX Industries, I4F Patents & Technologies, Mohawk/Performance Accessories, and TotalWorx by Shaw.

Educational highlights are set to include:

  • โ€œFloor Maintenance โ€“ at Installation and Beyond,โ€ led by Eric Boender, Starnet
  • โ€œHow to Take Care of Your Tribe,โ€ hosted by Women in the Floorcovering Industry
  • โ€œPattern Matching,โ€ with Jerry Miller, Millerโ€™s Consulting Inc.
  • โ€œCurrent Trends in LVP Flooring,โ€ featuring Kevin Philips, Novalis Innovative Flooring

 

The day will end with an Awards Dinner at 6:30 p.m., where outstanding achievements in the industry will be recognized and celebrated.

On the final day, Friday, Sept. 22, attendees will be able to attend product demonstrations and a range of educational sessions that include:

  • โ€œAsk the Attorney,โ€ led by Jeff King, legal counsel for WFCA
  • โ€œPlanning the Flooring Job for Success, Module 1 of the CIM program,โ€ hosted by Mike Kelly, Synergy Flooring
  • โ€œCommercial Resilient Seaming,โ€ featuring Dick Schmidt, Tarkett
  • โ€œHR Onboarding, Policies and Procedures in Flooringโ€
  • โ€œRollout Moisture Barriers,โ€ showcased by Traxx
  • โ€œHazardous Materials Management Plan,โ€ presented by Rod Von Busch, C.D.I. Floors

 

The show will wrap with the Closing Reception and Dinner beginning at 6 p.m.
