The National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) has appointed Todd McDonald as technical support and training manager. In this role, McDonald will provide technical assistance, educational support and lead NWFA/NOFMA mill inspections. He will work part-time with NWFA while transitioning out of his Maple Ridge Hardscraped business, then join full-time on Nov. 30.
“Todd is widely recognized as a trusted resource within the wood flooring industry, bringing an exceptional depth of knowledge and a proven ability to educate and support professionals,” said Stephanie Owen, president and CEO of NWFA. “His expertise and dedication to advancing the industry will be a tremendous asset to our members and the NWFA team.”
McDonald has more than 49 years of experience in the wood flooring industry. He began his career working on sports floors alongside his father, before serving as a drill sergeant in the U.S. Army Reserve. McDonald also spent time in sales for Basic Coatings, Aacer, WD Flooring and Glitsa.
Throughout his career, McDonald has been heavily involved with the NWFA. As a longtime regional instructor, he has taught courses across the U.S. and provided hands-on demonstrations at the NWFA Wood Flooring Expo. McDonald has served on the NWFA Certified Professionals board, the NWFA Education and Research Foundation board, the Wood Floor of the Year committee and as chair of the technical education committee. He is an NWFA certified installer, sand and finisher, and wood flooring inspector.
“While teaching classes as a regional instructor, I have had the opportunity to witness firsthand the immense pride wood flooring professionals at all career levels take in their craft. I’m grateful for the opportunity to represent the NWFA in this new role and look forward to working with our members to continue advancing and strengthening the industry,” McDonald stated.
