CPWR Webinar to Address Construction Industry Mentorship

The Center for Construction Research and Training (CPWR) will host “Benefits and Challenges of Mentorship in the Construction Industry,” on Nov. 19, from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. During this webinar, attendees will learn more about the Best Practices Guide and Mentor Handbook published recently by the University of Washington and the SMART International Union following a five-year research project.

According to CPWR, these new resources “can help you develop or improve a mentorship program within your union or construction company” while also “promoting social support, psychological health, safety and well-being.”

Chris Trahan Cain, CIH, executive director of CPWR, will moderate the panel. Panelists will include Marissa Baker, Ph.D., assistant professor, Department of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences, School of Public Health, University of Washington; and Lily Monsey, research coordinator/MPH student, from the same department and university.
