MAPEI Ultralite Mortar Zero a Carbon-Neutral Adhesive

MAPEI’s Ultralite Mortar Zero is North America’s first carbon-neutral tile setting adhesive, according to the company. This status is achieved by calculating the product’s carbon footprint and reducing it to zero through a combination of efficiency measures in-house, as well as through the acquisition of certified carbon credits in support of renewable energy and forestry protection projects.

Ultralite Mortar Zero also contains more than 20% recycled content, which results in lower environmental impacts when compared to using raw materials. Further, this product has compliant VOC emissions and content as well as a third-party verified Manufacturer Inventory, or material ingredient report, for customers pursuing green building standards, such as LEED.

In addition to its environmentally sustainable benefits, Ultralite Mortar Zero includes all the attributes of MAPEI’s other premium tile mortars, such as a non-sag, non-slump formula for both large-and-heavy-tile/stone and thin-set applications. Plus, it incorporates proprietary MAPEI technologies including Easy Glide Technology for ease of application, and BioBlock technology for mold and mildew resistance.
