As previously reported, the National Installer of the Year competition from The International Surface Event (TISE) will be hosting three regional events this year in Orlando, Fla.; St. Louis; and San Leandro, Calif. Finalists from each of these regionals, competing in the installation of carpet and wood, will then be flown to Las Vegas for a chance to win the nationals competition during next year’s TISE, Jan 31-Feb. 2, 2023.
Interested installers should submit their applications now for consideration, as deadlines are quickly approaching. Any installer in the U.S. may enter, regardless of the number of years in the industry or location. Competitors will choose which competition city they would like to compete at and submit their project history and images online for review. A panel of judges will select the top 10 installers for each city, who will then compete live in the regionals.
The regionals are: Regionals Southeast, during the International Certified Flooring Installers Association (CFI) convention in Orlando, Fla., July 31-Aug. 1; Regionals Central, at the National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) Training Facility in St. Louis, Sept. 29-30; and Regionals West Coast, at the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT) Training Facility in San Leandro, Calif., Oct. 27-28.
Submission deadlines are: July 8 for Regionals Southeast, Aug. 31 for Regionals Central, and Sept. 30 for Regionals West Coast.
