QEP Donates More than 60K Sponges for Disaster Cleanup

QEP has donated more than 60,000 premium sponges to support disaster relief and long-term recovery for people affected by the Southern California wildfires as well as ongoing cleanup efforts from Hurricanes Helene and Milton.

โ€œTwo truckloads are headed out to our nonprofit partners Delivering Good and Convoy of Hope,โ€ stated Len Gould, QEP president and CEO. โ€œWe know our best-in-class sponges could address an essential need on the frontlines of recovery.โ€

Delivering Good, based in New York City, partners with more than 800 local nonprofit groups across the U.S. to ensure donated products are delivered to people impacted by disasters and humanitarian crises. Convoy of Hope, based in Springfield, Mo., is a nonprofit that supports disaster relief and anti-poverty programs.

Additionally, QEP is donating 1,000-plus sponges to the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), which is the second-largest school district in the country and serves more than 425,000 students. LAUSDโ€™s maintenance & operations department has been aiding in the wildfire recovery.

When QEP reached out to its freight partners to help mitigate the cost of shipping, Cincinnati-based ATS Logistics immediately responded by donating the full cost of freight. When asked about the companyโ€™s commitment, ATSโ€™s vice president Ryan Burke commented, โ€œWe are happy to donate our services in this worthwhile endeavor. We saw QEP stepping up and wanted to partner with them.โ€
