Taylor Adhesives has unveiled Alpine, an unlimited moisture vapor barrier urethane adhesive and the newest addition to the company’s Essentials line. An all-in-one product, Alpine combines high elastomeric properties, unlimited moisture protection, and sound control up to 63 IIC and 62 STC, according to the company.
Alpine can be used to install engineered, solid plank and parquet wood flooring; cork flooring, cork-backed hard surface and cork underlayment; bamboo, acrylic impregnated plank and crumb rubber. It is rated for residential, multi-family and light commercial, and is low odor and low VOC. Coverage is 20 to 50 sf/gallon, depending on the application and trowel size used.
“Urethane adhesives are still a trusted installation adhesive for many installers,” commented Paul Murfin, president of Taylor. “Alpine complements our Timberline adhesive introduced a year ago.”
“Alpine is in production now and will begin distribution almost immediately—hitting shelves by mid-August,” said Tim Riley, director of U.S. distribution for Taylor.
